Love it! September 7, 2010 I bought this for my mom after she borrowed one from a friend. She absolutely loves it! She used to be a professional photographer, so I think that says something. I love it because when she watches my boys, they come home with pictures from the day! It is very easy to use and the print quality is great, even pictures printed on regular paper turn out great. She loves the fact that she doesn't need the computer to print the pictures. In fact, she doesn't even use it for her computer. She has also used it to scan and print copies of old pictures with great success. This printer is the perfect fit for my mom, and if I was in the market for a printer, I'd buy this one.
Waste of money September 6, 2010 My husband bought this printer for me for our anniversary about 4 months ago. The first month we had it, it seemed to work well, but the last 3 months it has been nothing but problems.
*We've had to go through 3 new printer heads, and many software reinstalls. *I would sometimes have to print something 4 or 5 times just to have it print correctly. *The printer will randomly start spitting paper out when I'm not even using it. *I constantly got an error message saying "wrong size paper loaded" even though I was using the standard size printer paper. *You have to have color ink just to print in black and white. *Many paper jams.
Now after 4 months it has complete stopped printing correctly, everything prints in grey streaks. We've once again replaced the printer head, reinstalled software, tried everything Kodak Customer Service told us to try, and nothing has worked.
My $40 Canon printer from Walmart lasted almost 3 years and was better quality than this piece of junk, it was a complete waste of $140.
About the only good thing is the cost of the ink, but with the amount of problems, it's just not worth it.
It's sad that a company can make such awesome cameras, but such horrible printers to go with those cameras. I will never purchase another Kodak printer again.
A Few Glitches September 5, 2010 "Ease of Use?" Am having a problem with the WiFi in that the printer seems to go into a "sleep" mode where it can't be awakened with a print command from a computer but only by tapping the on/off button. Often, even then, it doesn't recognize the print command which necessitates a re-boot of the printer. Have read nothing in the initial set-up material that suggests that using both a Mac OS and a Windows 7 should cause such a problem but it occurs with both.
"Ink Consumption" Seems the black ink cartridge emptied awfully fast. But, since it was the one that came with the new printer, I'm willing to bet that it was a smaller-than-normal size. Have just purchased a new cartridge and hope it will last longer. Was pleased with the low cost of the new cartridge, though!
Great printer for the money August 31, 2010 I was spending a lot of $$ on ink on my old Lexmark printer, so Kodak's ads about low ink cost prompted me to try one of their products. We have three computers in our home so the wireless connectivity was a great feature with all of the computers being able to use the printer, and unlike most wireless setups, this one installed flawlessly with no problems the very first time. Very Impressive. Copy and scan functions work excellently and were an added plus. Particularly because it does color copies (my regular B&W copier does a lousy job copying originals with colors, so this worked out great for me). Unfortunately, after having the printer only three days it came up with a "printer error" that could not be resolved, but Kodak tech support was excellent, they sent me a new printer right away with a postpaid box to return the old one. Ergo, I am well pleased with their response, service support, and product. About the only downsides I've observed are that it's somewhat noisy with lots of print carriage movement, and the power cord connection where it plugs into the back of the printer seems a little weak as the cord can come out easily if you are not careful, but these are minor points. Overall, I think it's an exceptional printer for the money and I've already recommended it to friends and family.
Kodak Printer August 31, 2010 Love my Kodak printer. I have owned many printers, but never a Kodak and I love it. It is easy to use and you can't beat the price on ink cartridges. Haven't had a need to use it wireless, but have the option should I need it.
